“Do not pass along false reports. Do not cooperate with evil people by telling lies on the witness stand. Do not join a crowd that intends to do evil. When you are on the witness stand, do not be swayed in your testimony by the opinion of the majority.” Exodus 23:1-2
Do you think we should have pro-life advocates inside the abortion industry working for them? They could do so much good work in there, right? I mean, surely they could talk women into saving the lives of their babies.
Would you support that? Not likely. The reason being that we don’t believe in cooperating with evil. Even if you were trying to do your best to save babies and converting women inside the walls of those facilities, you would still be working for the organization that kills them and coerces those women. There’s no moral way to promote that.
It’s likely that you weren’t aware that many people do promote this exact same scenario. They do this with the Girl Scouts, an organization directly affiliated with Planned Parenthood, our country’s largest abortion provider.
The same Planned Parenthood that published a brochure entitled “Healthy, Happy and Hot.” This brochure was distributed to thousands and thousands of Girl Scouts. The intended audience is girls aged 8-16. Below are a few excerpts from the brochure.
“Sex can feel great and can be really fun! Many people think sex is just about vaginal or anal intercourse… But, there are lots of different ways to have sex and lots of different types of sex. Sex can include kissing, touching, licking, tickling, sucking, and cuddling. Some people like to have aggressive sex, while others like to have soft and slow sex with their partners. There is no right or wrong way to have sex. Just have fun, explore and be yourself!”
“Improve your sex life by getting to know your own body. Play with yourself! Masturbation is a great way to find out more about your body and what you find sexually stimulating. Don’t stop there: find out how your partner’s body works, what makes them feel good and what gives them pleasure. Talking with your partner about what you each like and what feels good is the best way to have great sex.”
“Your skin is the largest erogenous zone on your body, and your mind plays a big role in your desire for sex and sexual pleasure. Caress and lick your partner’s skin. Explore your partner’s body with your hands and mouth. Mix things up by using different kinds of touch from very soft to hard. Talk about or act out your fantasies. Talk dirty to them. Tickle, tease and make them feel good.”
I am a parent to a small child. I would never want her to be exposed to such filth, but the Girl Scouts promotes this agenda. Any money that is given to the Girl Scouts goes to their national office including money for uniforms, badges, cookies, annual dues, etc. That money, in part, is then used to associate with Planned Parenthood.
No one can say that “their troupe” does not give money to Planned Parenthood. If you are a member of the Girl Scouts organization, you pay dues, you sell cookies, and you have uniforms with badges, then you are in association with Planned Parenthood. Period. How could anyone who says they are pro-life cooperate with such evil? How could anyone who is against abortion contribute in ANY part to the killing of children, especially if they KNOW that their money is being used for such an activity.
Scripture is clear. We must NOT cooperate with evil in any way. We MUST cleanse our churches and our Christian faith of such evil. We CAN work to educate others about Girl Scouts without being active participants, just like we do with Planned Parenthood.
I no longer work at Planned Parenthood, but I feel like God is using me to inform people about the dangers of the organization. People who have been involved with Girl Scouts can do the same and live with a clean conscience.
A quote from Girl Scouts CEO, Kathy Cloninger, “We partner with many organizations. We have relationships with our church communities, with YWCAs, and with Planned Parenthood organizations across the country, to bring information-based sex education programs to girls.”
How much more evidence do you need? We must remove ourselves from such evil. We cannot allow ourselves to participate “from within.” We must remove ourselves and get out. We must stand up for truth with a clean conscience and a clean heart.
There is an alternative, American Heritage Girls. This organization is a REAL Christ-centered, scouting organization that does not contribute to Planned Parenthood. There is an option. There is no reason to allow your girls to be subjected to Planned Parenthood’s radical anti-life and anti-family agenda.

Both men and women alike should educate and inform themselves about contraceptives and contraceptive practices. Some contraceptives act as abortifacients. This practice too is a collusion with evil. If something prevents conception, then how can it be pro-life?

You open this article with “Do not pass along false reports.” In that spirit, I ask you to fact check that the awful brochure went out to “thousands and thousands of Girl Scouts”. Sharon Slater was the one who found the brochures and I’ve never read anything that has her saying that were that many WAGGGS members present at the UN event. Thank you for double checking and clarifying this point. There are many concerns with the GSUSA (ie GSUSA doe not deem abortion evil) but we can’t confuse the issue by “passing along false reports.”
Abby Johnson says
They were present. I have checked.
Concerned parent says
Sorry that I missed a “there” in the second sentence and mispelled “does” in the last sentence.

Abby, thank you for this blog. I’ve been researching this issue a lot lately wondering if I should allow my girls to continue with GS. The whole link between GS and PP deeply concerns me. One thing I question is the financial link between GS and PP and definitive information is hard to come by, in my opinion. When the GS logo appears on a brochure (as you mentioned witnessing personally while working at PP), does that mean GS provided financial support for that brochure? I see many links posted with GSUSA or WAGGGS listed as a ‘partner’ or ‘affiliated’ with PP or IPPF so does that imply financial support? I don’t know.
Either way, I completely understand what you are voicing regarding “Do Not Cooperate with Evil.” At the end of the day, do I want to allow my girls to associate with an organization that promotes values which contradict our moral and Godly beliefs?
Tiff says
I was talking to one of my friends about this and she said their local organization didn’t associate with PP. Then I looked on the website about the conference in Houston and this was the bio of one of the speakers (I cut and pasted it exactly from the website and also sent my friend the link):
“Dana Myerson Agamalian, mother of Girl Scout Brownie Alexa, is the founder of the Orange County Friends of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and the Family Health Circle at U.C. Irvine Medical Center. She is a Donna Karan “Women Who Inspire” Ambassador and is affiliated with the Girl Scouts of Orange County council, Planned Parenthood, SOS Children’s Villages, Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA), and the Mariners Elementary School Foundation.”
Not five minutes after I sent this to my friend, I looked on the website again and “Planned Parenthood” was removed from her bio. I am not making this up; I did not add anything to it, all I did was cut and paste it and now its gone from the website! Here is the link to it now:
http://www.girlscouts.org/convention/whats_happening/speakers_detail.asp?f=Dana&l=Agamalian
I am in total shock. I originally thought (after talking to my friend) that maybe this whole thing was being exaggerated; but now I’m beginning to think the Girl Scouts are hiding something.
FormerGirlScoutLeader says
Tiff, I searched the speaker’s name and planned parenthood in google and saw that she is a committee member of pp for Orange County. The search result for the link you posted also shows “planned parenthood” still in the text but when you go to the website, its removed. Does make one wonder why GS removed that from her bio when she is in fact affiliated with pp?!
Concerned parent says
Googled her and found PP in her bio at DonnaKaran website http://www.donnakaran.com/editorial/detail/1d30eed5-edd6-41b0-9676-7c88a159e4ed/dana-agamalian
“She is also a board member for UCI Medical Center, as well as a committee member for Planned Parenthood of Orange County. Dana is a loyal Nordstrom’s Donna Karan customer. ”
GSUSA-I can see leaving out the Nordstron’s part of her bio, but why “erase” the PP part?
Richard-Pearland, TX says
Tiff, you are absolutely right about this speaker at the 52nd GS convention!
Dana Agamalian (A.K.A. Dana Karan, the famous owner of the DKNY brand) web page reads:
“BIOGRAPHY | Dana’s philanthropic interests lie in women’s health, pediatric research and patient care. Dana’s life-changing moment came when she gave birth at 28 weeks to twins, Grant and Alexa, who went on to require three and a half months of neo-natal care. Dana was committed to helping other families with children in need. Dana is the founder of Orange County Friends of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, as well as the Family Health Center for UC Irvine Medical Center (where her twins were cared for.) She is also a board member for UCI Medical Center, as well as a committee member for Planned Parenthood of Orange County. Dana is a loyal Nordstrom’s Donna Karan customer. ”
Dana is “committee member for Planned Parrenthood of Orange County”!

…a correction: Dana Agamalian is one of the “Women who inspire” of Donna Karan.

Abby. Given your strong connection with 40 Days for Life and your conversion to the Catholic Church, I was hoping that you would have some insight into a question I have. What is going on with the US bishops and 40 Days for Life? I’m sure you have heard about the situation in Spokane, but beyond that I noticed that the USCCB website has no mention at all of 40 Days. And even though October has been declared “Respect Life Month” by the bishops, they never mention the 40 Days prayer vigils at all.
I’m not trying to cause controversy, but I am concerned about this. Have the bishops decided to discourage Catholic participation in 40 Days for Life?
Amanda says
My 9 year old wanted to be a girl scout so bad. I told her why she couldn’t, and she understands. She said that her friends are all in a “Catholic” girl scout troop at school. Lord, have mercy.
Marie says
I am a former Girl Scout (I was involved with the organization for over 15 years.) and I’m extremely disappointed with their ties to Planned Parenthood; I found out about that link a few years ago and I was disgusted.
Let’s just say that I won’t allow my daughter to be involved.
SI says
To FBV: There’s a big difference between an abortifacient and contraception. Contraception is not anti-life because it does not end a life as does an abortifacient. I hope you don’t think people that use condoms are doing “evil”. That line of thinking would be why the other side thinks we’re all nuts (pro-lifers).
A Girl Scout says
Girl Scouts of the USA (GSUSA) and Girl Scouts of North East Ohio (GSUSA) have no relationship with Planned Parenthood and never received financial support or compensation from Planned Parenthood. In some areas of the country, troops or GS groups may choose to have discussions about human sexuality and may choose to collaborate with a local organizer who specializes in these issues. Participation in these types of discussions is optional and parental consent must be provided.
WAGGGS is an umbrella organization whose members are individual national Girl Guides or Girl Scout organizations from 145 countries around the world. WAGGS does not create or prescribe program content for its members and has no relationship with Planned Parenthood.
GSUSA’s membership is a cross-section of America’s girls and families who hold a wide variety of religious and personal beliefs. For that reason GSUSA recognizes and supports the primacy of parents when it come to their daughter’s education in regard to human sexuality.
More information on these topics can be found in the GSUSA publication What We Stand For, pages 44 and 45.

Klara,I am so sorry to tell you this…but there is an actual paper trail that shows the financial transactions between PP and GSUSA. I know it really stinks. I wish it wasn’t so. But it is. The proof is there. You can check it out at http://www.girlscoutswhynot. It is directly off the the GSUSA tax statement.

I actually worked at Planned Parenthood for a year of my life, and I will regret it forever, but I would just like to say that I too have heard of this connection to Girl Scouts, one of the nurses had a daughter in the group and so it was a topic of discussion that would come up. I agree with the issue of “passing along false reports”, because in every part of the information I look at out here since leaving my position, there is almost always missing facts, or omited information. If this procedure is so “justified” then why do they constantly have to hide things? I am glad I am no longer part of this tragedy. And I will continue to tell what I know in order to defend the actual truth.
