Money, dinero, change, cash; all of these things are names for something that seems to keep this world moving.
While it is important to us normal citizens, it is even more important to Planned Parenthood. They desperately need it and their funds are under attack!! Today, the US House of Representatives voted to strip Planned Parenthood of government funding. This organization received just over $363 million dollars of our tax dollars last year.
Some people think they could survive without our tax dollars. Could they? No way. They NEED our money, yours and mine. They need it BAD!! Yes, they have famous actors and investors that support them, but do they support them to the tune of $363 million dollars? No.
Their biggest donor maxes out around $22 million. There is no way they could get to that huge number. They need us. We have to take this money away from them. It is simply a matter of us getting our hands dirty and moving to action.
The vote will now be in the Senate. Call your Senator, even if he is pro-life. Call him or her. Let them know that you want them to vote for LIFE!! Call several times! This type of grassroots effort makes the biggest difference.
I was talking to a legislator the other day and he was telling me how disappointed he was. He said that for every 1 pro-life call he got 30 pro-choice calls, and he lives in a very conservative district!
Come on!! Don’t take this for granted. Get moving! This is our chance, our opportunity to defund the largest abortion chain in the country. Make something happen!!!

Hi Abby,I just saw you on The Factor. A couple of years ago I had to obtain birth control pills because my dermatologist required it. I went to a Planned Parenthood in Texas to get them. I was a 22 year old virgin and didn’t have a clue about how to take birth control effectively. They handed me a pack of pills and that was it. No education, no information about how to use them, no questions, and no physical exam. If I had been having sex, it is highly likely that I would have used them incorrectly and that pretty much explains the statistic you mentioned on The Factor. Based on my personal experiences, I do not believe this organization is about education or health. Thanks for being brave and speaking out the truth!

Abby,I just want to say that thanks to your book, I have become a strong PROLIFER instead of a wishy washy one! I read your book in about a week and a half (which is quick for me!) and since then I have been so passionate about being prolife and making those around me well aware of my stance.
And you’ll be happy to know that I wrote to both my senators asking them to vote in favor of defunding Planned Parenthood!
A mighty work is being done through you Abby…what a blessing!

So glad to hear about this. Praying for your protection in all this, Abby. Emotionally and physically. See you November 20 in Rochester, NY!!

Hi Abby,
I was just looking back at your post in March 2010, shortly after the abortion-funding Obamacare program was passed.
No one knew what a difference a year would make!
You were right… political battles come and go; we win some and we lose some. But the real battle is the winning of hearts, one at a time.
Just like the abolition movement.
These culture wars take generations, and often seem hopeless. Then suddenly, a critical mass is reached, the culture turns, and finally the laws to protect the weak are put in place.

Does anyone know the name/number of the bill in the Senate? I tried to find it on the web, but to no avail. Thought it would be wise to specifically mention it when I contacted my senators.
Abby Johnson says
It is called the Pence Amendment.

Hi Abby,
I’m writing an editorial in my college newspaper in defence of the Pence bill and I need some stats. I remember you saying in some interview that PP deliberately provides the cheapest contraceptives so that women will come back for an abortion when they fail. Is this correct? And can you direct me to where you said this? Any other less commonly cited incriminatory statistics would also be helpful!
Thank you, and keep fighting the good fight! I’m praying for you!

I am half way through your book and you moved me from being a strong pro-life advocate to wanting to be and active speaking and preaching advocate. You honestly lit a fire in my spirit. Thank you. You probably dont even know the changes you have created in so many people.

Very interesting. I thought that one of the most potent arguments against funding them was that they were awash in donations from billionaires, and so they DON’T need our hard-earned money! That is not true?
Abby Johnson says
No. They wouldn’t be able to make it without federal money.

actually a good post. I will certainly be reading this blog far more.

HiI have a small fictional senario for you here. Consider this. the reason babies are aborted is because they cannot defend themselves in the womb. Now if babies were able to defend themselves. If we could modify babies and make them abortion-resistant–fully–abortion–resistant… would this stop abortion from happening? after all what good is trying to murder a baby whose immune system destroys anything it comes in contact with anything foreign that is? what good is abortion if the babies will survive no matter what abortive method you try? So have any of you ever considered stopping abortion by giving babies the ability to resist abortion completely and fully? I wish it could be done. sure wish we had the technology to do such a thing.
